Residential Carpets

Darwin Carpets and Vinyls staff have extensive experience working in the Top End extreme conditions. We recommend a solution dyed nylon carpet for its hard wearing properties, stain resistance and resistance to carpet beetles. (Carpet beetles can cause great destruction, allergic or skin reactions.)  Solution dyed nylon carpet is suitable for every situation, domestic and rental properties.

Darwin Carpets and Vinyls offer three (3) main types of carpet:

Loop pile

Loop pile carpet fibres have been left in their looped form. This creates a firm, low, tightly woven carpet. The advantage of loop pile carpet is that is  very durable and can stand up to heavy foot traffic as it doesn’t show footprints.

Plush Pile

Plush pile carpet has a pile that is short and slightly twisted, it has a soft velvet appearance for a formal look. This style has a vey soft feel but can display tracking from footprints and vacuuming. Great for bedrooms or low traffic areas.

Twist Pile

Twist pile carpets have tightly twisted fibres that lies in different directions. Twisting the fibres increases the strength for a hardwearing, strong, highly resistance carpet. The textured finish is less likely to show shading or tracking.
